As fate would have it I got a call from one of our partners in Lucknow who sent 11 youth leaders to Bridging the gaps youth camp in May 2015. It would be great if we could award their leaders with Discraft discs and since they each coach teams their kids would also get great use from them as official game discs for their small practices. I have simply forwarded the list here each with a photograph.
Jaidip is helping coordinate this effort across several Ultimate teams in India. Thanks for your time, Jaidip!

Go to www.usps.gov and establish a login account. Then pick “International” and “Complete Customs Forms”. Under “Recipient Information”, a pull-down for “Select destination” select the country as India, and another pull-down for “*State/Province/Other” appears; select “India”.
On the bottom, for weight, specify 0 Lbs, 7 Oz., and $7 for the value, for example:
Next, you select a service; pick the “First-Class, you supply the box”. Next, you need to specify IT IS A GIFT, and categorize it as a humanitarian donation…
If you print the labels from the USPS website like this, they cost about $11.50 to ship. If you just print the customs labels and then pay for the shipping at the post office, it costs about $13.00 to ship.

The family of Joey Giampino, along with Alan Goldenberg and the extended Windy City Ultimate Frisbee team family, were deeply moved by this video, which was filmed in 2014. In part, because we had sent 1,000 discs to India Ultimate players a few years back… what we’re now calling: “Project-175, phase-1”.

200 of these “Phase-1” discs were sent to Chainai, home of FlyWild (the team featured in the film 175-Grams), and so, we concluded that our efforts were paying off, BIG-TIME, and in ways we never dreamed possible. PLEASE, WATCH THE FILM!
Overwhelmed by this “return on investment”, the Windy City family immediately responded by gathering over $5,600 in donations exclusively for FlyWild. The money was used to manufacture 500 Ultra-star discs from Discraft, Inc., and have them shipped to Chainai, along with some cash $$$ as well.
The design of the disc was by collaboration, just as the “Phase-1” disc was, and again, Tom Coffin of the Windy City family did all of the artwork, but this time with some help from Dr. Danno Hyslop, who took this 80’s photo of the great Joey Giampino in action:

When my landlady, Anna Filangi and myself saw these photos, we were THRILLED. We decided to give some more, but this time, we’re trying something a bit different…. This is Project-175, Phase-3: “Adapt a player”
I’ve been in contact with Jaidip Paytel and Dev Tayde from India Ultimate organizations. See “Appendix: Correspondences to India” below for email addresses and details of the correspondences.
I ordered 202 more of the FlyWild discs to be manufactured by Discraft, and I just took delivery from Bob Huston at Discraft, today (12-Aug-2015). I paid for this out-of-pocket, however, this time, I expect other people to reimburse me for the discs (at my cost) and to pay for shipping to India, as described in the correspondences. My time and effort are my pleasure to provide for these wonderful people.
There are known problems getting plastic to India without being charged outrageous import duties. However, we now believe that there are no such fees if a simple gift is sent from the USA into India, from “person-to-person”. This fits perfectly into the plans that I have!

(14-Aug-2015) At Ultimate practice in Dearborn, Michigan last night, I met a guy named Rahul from Ahmedabad. He told me that the discs we send really do make a big impact. He said that most people in India would have to work for a month to save enough for an Ultra-Star.

Well this is great news, and sorely needed, Dev.
Somebody please send me the names, addresses (and photos, if possible) of 50 "disadvantaged" individuals, and they will get their discs from 50 individuals here in the USA!!!
As soon as I get the list, I will publish it on my Project-175, Phase-3 web site , I will print the shipping labels up and get 'em out to the many fine Ultimate players here in Detroit, who are eagerly waiting to donate after watching the 8-minute film: 175-Grams.
The final cost is only $20 to cover the shipping (~$13.00), and my costs for the discs and printing supplies.
I will provide the list of photos to anyone who wants to donate... they can pick one and I will record their names and keep track on my Project-175, Phase-3 web site. I will give them the disc and expect them to complete filling out the labels with their names, and drop it off at the post office. They can write a personalized message on the disc and I would expect whomever gets it to become pen-pals for life.
Each disc sent like this is an olive branch from an American to let the disadvantaged people in India know that there is hope and somebody does care. I hope this batch will be the first 50 of 50 thousand, as more and more Ultimate players can easily do this!
I hope the international mail system will soon be FLOODED with UltraStars.... the symbol of world peace.

I sent the first one out today (and gave the helpful people at the post office a disc to boot). It was sent NO PACKAGE, JUST THE DISC ITSELF!!! How cool is that?
Every time I see that video it brings a tear to my eye and a warmth in my heart, knowing that our contributions have made a difference.
What I need now is for somebody to post this same link in the Southfield Ultimate site.

Dear Jaidip and Marty,
Hope the two of you are doing well.
Lets try this, although even discs mailed as gifts could get taxed in India. We had a well wisher from Taiwan try to send some discs and cones as gifts and the Indian Customs slapped us a duty for importing chemical components! We ended up not paying since the duty was too high and had to relinquish the discs and cones. But they were packed in a cartoon and maybe things are different if things aren't packed.

Here's the plan...
I'm going to ask the dudes in India to give me a list of names, each accompanied by a photograph. I will print these photos on some paper, print the names on some shipping labels, and mount them in the disc plastic bag container so they're visible from the outside. I will tape another disc to the first, so it's a buy one, get one "free" offer.
I will ask the buyer to please send one of these discs to the person on the label, and I hope that they begin a relationship with that person, for life, just like the old "feed a child for a month" programs for African children. I'm going to order 200 for starters, and I plan on selling them to retailers at my cost, say, $12.00 for the set, and they can add up to $8.00 for their profit, if they want to. So, for about $12 - $20, you get a numbered set of FlyWild discs and you get to ship one of 'em to the Indian person you "sponsor", and in return they will send you an email thanking you, and keeping you posted on their progress. It's personal and yet, easy for me to get it going.
Any thoughts/suggestions? Would you like to include a Windy City logo in the printed instructions? Anyone in particular I should contact? I got:
